Carry the 3

I’m not too proud to admit that now that my daughter is in sixth grade, I can’t always help her with math homework.  There’s so much I don’t remember from school.  Like the order of operations; I know it’s something about parentheses, and then I draw a blank…

Often, we create our own (unhelpful!) order of operations.  I worked with a client who had leads on her desk for her new business, but didn’t feel she could launch working with new customers until she had a logo and website.  I can’t count the times I tell myself I couldn’t possibly draft a difficult email until my sink was clear of dishes. (Oh, the joys of working from home!).

Sometimes the small things are easier to tackle than the big things, and making ourselves feel busy, or telling ourselves certain things need to be done before others can actually take us further away from our goals.

Many experts advise that we all start our day with our most important work.  I’d go so far as to say do the thing you least want to do first.

Of course, these things are always easier said than done! Often, we need a supportive partner to achieve our most important goals. Let’s chat about how we can work together.
